Our Program
Wedgewood Elementary School, built in 1977, is located in the Wedgewood Subdivision, at 2330 Aspenwood Ave., in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There are over 650 students currently enrolled in grades PK-5. The faculty is comprised of 27 classroom teachers, 4 special education inclusion teachers, two gifted teachers, two speech therapists, a librarian, guidance counselor, technology specialist, music teacher, art teacher, French teacher, 2 P.E. teachers, and 3 instructional aides. Wedgewood’s staff includes a principal, assistant principal, secretary, clerk, nurse, timeout moderator, cafeteria manager and staff, and 4 custodians (two full-time).

School Improvement
The school improvement plan assesses the school's strengths and weaknesses,implements strategies and activities to address the school's needs, and continually evaluates the school's progress toward achieving its objectives and meeting its goals. The plan focuses on improving student achievement at the school by addressing state goals and performance standards.
