Wedgewood's students are taught on individual instructional levels in both Math and Reading, based on extensive diagnostic testing. Multi-leveled groups are fluid so that students are placed appropriately at all times. Teachers meet as grade levels three times per week to interpret and analyze testing data, as well as collaborate on lessons and activities based on the comprehensive curriculum. Wedgewood's teachers also participate in professional development monthly, both on Wedgewood's campus and nationwide at conferences. Wedgewood is privileged to have student teachers from nearby participating universities working with the students.
Wedgewood is a technology-rich learning environment. Each classroom has an ACTIVboard, a document camera, and several computers for student use. Every grade level has a digital camera and video camera to use within the classrooms. Classes visit the computer lab once a week so that students may access educational computer programs and assessments, such as Renzulli, Accelerated Reader, STAR Reading, and STAR Math. Wedgwood's students also have the opportunity to participate in distance learning through the use of virtual field trips.
